Nestled within a charming 495 sq ft apartment in Tuen Mun, this design project celebrates the vibrant lives of two expat twin sisters. The goal was to create a warm and cheerful sanctuary that embodies their vivacious personalities, brimming with color and character, while thoughtfully considering sustainability and budget efficiency as complementary aspects.
Living Room:
The heart of the home features a custom full-height cabinet in warm oak laminate, providing ample storage and harmonizing beautifully with the taupe kitchen cabinets. A transformer dining table enhances versatility, accommodating intimate dinners or gatherings for four. The walls, re-painted in soft off-white, evoke warmth, beautifully complemented by sage green textured wallpaper behind the sofa. This palette harmonizes with the green fabric sofa and ottoman, creating an inviting atmosphere. Additional elements, such as a loose TV cabinet and a magazine rack, enrich functionality, making the space both practical and welcoming.
Elder Sister's Bedroom:
The larger bedroom is designed for the elder sister, showcasing a raised platform bed with hidden storage. A striking navy blue accent wallpaper pairs seamlessly with a padded headboard, adding sophistication. A versatile desk beside the bed serves as a workspace and makeup station, adorned with decorative shelves for personal touches.
Younger Sister's Bedroom:
The smaller bedroom caters to the younger sister, ensuring a cozy fit for a bed, desk, and closet, with a hanging cabinet above for additional storage. A lovely moss green textured wallpaper envelops the space, creating an inviting retreat.
This project beautifully encapsulates the essence of the twin sisters, resulting in a warm home that reflects their vibrant personalities while embracing sustainable design principles.
